An elegantly crafted ivory and brass measure. I have been told it was used by a seaman - it may be a type of Gunter Rule. ( You might want to check with the Oughtred Society as it may be a type of slide rule).It's in very nice condition, no chips or cracks but it has a little bit of ink staining.
The edges of the long sides also have calibrations on them.Length without hinge is 6" and width is 1 3/8".
