Unusual and whimsical grouping of cold painted lead figures - probably by Heyde. A kitten is sitting at a writing desk, telephone in hand and simultaneously writing "HALLOO", an ink pot is in the right hand corner. However, we can also see the cat who is making the call,on hind legs, behind the desk. The box telephone is hanging on the back of the desk.An unusual little scene done in great detail.
There is paint wear - see photos. About 2" at its widest and 2 1/2" at its tallest point.Dates about the early 20th c.

This handsome Belding Bros.&Co. circa 19th c. country store spool cabinet is 19" wide, 13" tall and 17" deep. It is all original and in nice condition. The cabinet is solid oak - the back is pine and the name plate on the bottom drawer is mahagony. There are five drawers, 15 1/2" wide - the bottom drawer is 2 1/4" deep and has a mahagony name plate with gilt lettering(original). The other four drawers are glass (original) fronted and 1 3/8" deep. The cabinet has attractive decorative moldings at the top and bottom. The handle and metal fittings (original) are nickel plated brass. The top of the cabinet has some wear. I believe the darker marks are flaws in the oak. The drawers have many Belding spools ( some with thread ), but they are all much later than the cabinet as the company merged with other thread companies several times.

She is a flirty, naked, blond, full figured German bisque. What a doll! She is wearing her original little wig of curls and her lovely light blue bathing shoes.I assume she is sitting on a beach, as these figures are often referred to as "bathing beauties"(or naughties) She is beautiful and in beautiful condition, 5" across and 3 1/2" top to bottom. She dates from the 1920's.

According to VICTORIAN BRASS NEEDLECASES by Estelle Horowitz and Ruth Mann, The Bird on a Box needle case was patented(and that is marked on the case both with the registry mark and written out) on February 24, 1873 by W.Avery & Son Manufacturers, although the box is not marked with their name. The bird needle case is all original, including the matching aqua blue glass eyes. The dimensions are 7.5 x 3.5 x 5.5. The condition is excellent.
This is the first one I've seen complete and intact.

This Civil War period glazed leather sewing "roll" is actually rectangular in shape . It is brown leather and lighter brown fabric binding. Lined in red silk, while it is worn, is amazingly all there(most wear of the silk is on the compartment gussets). The lock, which still works is beautifully detailed and decorated brass and steel. The thimble holder contains a Simon Bros. Co. metal thimble which,of course, is not original. There is a large steel bodkin in one of the 7 slots. It has three compartments and its original silk covered pincushion forms one of the sides. The width is 4 1/2", the height is 3" and the depth is 2". Given its age and use I think it is in lovely condition.
