This magnificent sewing needle packet holder is an Avery box in the shape of a butterfly.It was sold by Mappin & Webb in London and Sheffield and has the design registry mark.It is brass, in wonderful condition and dates from the 1870's. The wing span is 4 7/8". The detail is incredible. Hard to believe this was a commercial container!

This ca 1870's sewing needle packet holder is a wonderful example of Victorian whimsey and decorative chromolithography.
The overall height is 2 3/4" and when open extends about 6 3/4". The china thimble is
repaired and the lid hinge also shows wear and repair.A little bit of Dresden paper is missing on the pincushion lid.

Four drawer advertising Willimantic thread cabinet stating on each of the drawers in succession: SPOOL COTTON WILLIMANTIC
SOFT FINISH BEST THREAD FOR SEWING MACHINES. The cabinet is 24"long, 15 3/4" deep and 14" tall. The drawers are about 2 1/2" deep. The front is oak, the secondary woods are poplar or spruce. The cabinet,hardware and lettering are all original and in very nice condition .Dates pre WWI.

Delightful 7 piece suite of wicker and wood garden room furniture for the toy dollhouse.
The scale is more or less 1" to the foot. The set consists of a sofa, an armchair with a magazine holder, a rocker, a tall stand, a library type table,a standing lamp and shade, and a bird cage and stand. The lamp and birdcage are about 6 1/2"tall.The seats of the sofa and the rocker are about 1 1/2" off the floor. The seat of the armchair is 1 7/8" off the floor.The tabletop is 3" off the floor and the tall stand top is 3 1/2" off the floor. The furniture is a great skipper blue(there is a small amount of paint flaking) and the bird cage a bright orange. The period fabrics coordinate nicely and are original to the furniture. The standing lamp appears to be wired for electricity. The set dates ca.1930's and the wicker and most of the paint is in excellent condition.
