This 1930's Kingsbury fire truck is a most impressive toy. It measures about 36" in length at the maximum. The width is about 9 1/2". It has been in storage since the early 40's. The condition is very good. I have tried to take as many pictures as possible so that you can judge the condition. It needs a very good dusting. It all is original - the only exception I can see is possibly the string that is used in raising the ladders. The fire bell is intact and works, however the string that connected to the mechanism must have disintegrated and was not replaced. There is play wear, but the color is good and most of the silver and gold paint detailing is there. There are 4 ladders and the extension ladder. The tires are round and in very nice condition. There is no peg in the seat for a driver, so I assume there was no driver with this toy.

This is a beautiful 19th century French wire cake and pastry cooler.
The wire work is intricate for such an utilitarian item. And, it miraculously retained 3 of its tassels. The diameter is 12 1/2" and it sits 1" off the table top. The metal has a very nice patina.
For more information on French antique wire items see WIRE, by Suzanne Slesin,et al, part of the EVERYDAY THINGS series published by Abbeville.

This wire trap is pictured in Suzanne Slesin's book on antique wire. I am assuming it was a mouse trap because of its size. It is now for the collector of unusual wire because a small section of 4 wires in the base have rusted away. The rest if it is intact. It does retain its metal little door for retrieving your catch. Diameter of the base is 6" , height is 4", handle is another 2". It is a neat piece.

Lovely little children's soft cover book. The characters in the book are the anthropomorphized contents of a sewing basket. The cover has a tipped in color illustration by Ruth M.Hallock, the inner illustrations are black and white. The book is 5 1/4" wide by 7 1/2 " tall and has 48 numbered pages, There are two chips and a crease on the cover, as can be seen in the illustration. I am fairly sure this was an advertising piece, as it was published in 1907 by Belding Bros. - a thread producer.Except for the faults mentioned the book is in quite a nice condition.

Wonderful little folk art carving of a thick book . One cover has the raised carved words "HOLY BIBLE" - the E is damaged. The other side, again carved in relief is FEB 21 1890. The 21 is underlined (in relief). The 1 has been damaged. The spine has 2 curved sections carved in relief. About 2 1/2" tall, 2" wide and 1 3/8" thick. Has a nice patina.

A beautiful group of 10 of the Nuremberg flats ice skating set. They are in lovely condition - two dimensional, beautiful detailed painting on both sides. There is an elderly couple skating, a gentleman helping a seated woman with her skates, a lady being pushed in a chair sled by a skater, old lady selling roasted chestnuts while seated next to her stove,2 figures of boys throwing snowballs at one another, a snowman holding a broom, a boy skater pulling a young child on a sled, and two separate figures of young men skating. They are all dressed in 19th century dress. These sets which originally consisted of 32 pieces (somewhere I have a copy of the mail order ad that was found with them), were probably sold in the 1950's.

Another graphically great set of Deco bridge tally score pads, for 4 players this time. Issued by the Buzza Co. and titled "IT'S THE VOGUE" the motif here are pirates - beautiful lady in pirate gear forms a partially figural score pad. The 4 have their silk cords but only 3 of the pencils are still hanging there. Pads have been lightly used, some shelf ware on the box. Still, all in very nice condition.
