This charming tugboat model was found in Maryland and, may well have been made in Maryland. The name painted on the side: MARY. It is made of tinplate and wood. It has many wonderful little details (don't know enough about tugboat language to describe them precisely). It is about 9" long and 4 1/2" high. Perhaps, ca 1930 or earlier. The rudder is movable.

This one room doll house I believe is made by Converse. The roof(pressed into the wood tile design) lifts off, The chimney is also separate and the front porch swings open to show the room. The maximum height without the chimney is 6 5/8". The chimney is 1/3/4" tall. The base is 5 1/8" wide and 3 3/4" deep. The actual house is 4 3/4" wide and 3 3/4" deep. The graphic details are lithographed directly onto the wood. A little bit of chipping on the corners of the porch overhang and on the foundation. Generally, good condition. A tiny, cozy little home.

The box identifies the contents as "2134F Metal Furniture Asst."The box has beautiful artwork and further identifies the contents as "Tootsietoy Furniture and Accessories". The cardboard template inside holds 23 of the 24 pieces that came in the set. The cardboard shows a space for another piece, quite a small one - I cannot figure out what it could be. Except for the blue dresser with the swivel mirror, the pieces are all in excellent condition. The blue dresser is missing its back left leg (1/4"). The 24 pieces consist of a blue bedroom(4),a pink bedroom (4),a parlor (7-lady's desk, chair, table, floor model radio, rocking chair, standing lamp), a green kitchen (4), and a pink bathroom (4).The Tootsietoy scale is 1/2" to 1'. The box has carefully taped corners but is in generally very good condition.

This item is all about the case. The cardboard pencil box is a mechanical circus parade - wonderful illustrations!. As you move the inner box the pictures on both sides of the outer box change. The flap at one end is detached - but all there. The box contains what looks like an unused pencil, 6" ruler and dip pen - no point. It measures 7 1/2" x 2 3/8". Really charming and unusual.

A lovely set of 6 nesting blocks dating from the early 1900's stands 12 3/4" . While not marked, the quality of the lithography indicates German manufacture. The largest block is 2 3/4" square and the other 5 graduate down into that block The condition of the five inner blocks is excellent. The outer one is very good but does show some wear , as expected, as this would be the outer "packaging", and therefore most handled. The lithography covering the sturdy cardboard blocks is quite delightful. The outer block shows Victorian children and their animals at play, the top image is the entire alphabet in lower case letters. The second largest block shows parrots playing with early toys, the top image is a clock face. The third one down shows the heads of four beautiful Victorian children, the top image shows the numbers 1-9. The next one down shows four different wild animals, the top image is the alphabet O-Z in upper case letters. The second smallest shows four different birds, the top image is the alphabet G-J in upper case letters. The smallest block again shows Victorian children in different activities (different from the scenes on the largest block) and the top image is the alphabet A-F in upper case letters.

This is an extraordinarily fine, English, silk knitted pin ball. One side has two sets of initials (I assume the giver and the receiver),
the date-1796-, two crowns and 4 triangular decorative sections. The colors are creamy gold on light brown. The other side has the following phrase,"LET NOT ABSENCE BANISH LOVE" and some small decorative shapes. The original hanging cord is still intact. It is pretty close to a perfect example of a pin ball - probably a love token. The phrase is wonderful and the work has the look of an extraordinary miniature sampler. It is oval in shape - about 2" by 1 1/2"

A detailed and charming Victorian bandstand is made of cardboard, mica sprinkles, gold paint, tiny brass bells, thin little brass chain, faceted beads, silvery beads and a tremendous amount of attention to detail. It was found in Baltimore and I would guess that it may have been part of the very elaborate Christmas gardens that were quite popular in Baltimore at the turn of the century. It is about 8 1/2" tall at most and 5" at its widest - in very nice condition.

This 1930's German sets up delightfully. Its 27 pieces(19 figures - 7 set-up pieces) give you a full range of the action going on in a real circus. Acrobats, animal acts, clowns, trained elephant, trapeze artists, etc.The figures are composition on a wire armature and the ring, see-saw ,etc., are wooden. The colors are brilliant. The condition is generally quite good. A few small repairs, one trapeze artist has a little sliver missing from her upper arm, a rubbed nose or toe, but overall quite nice. Most of the pieces are marked "GERMANY". The circus ring is 12" in diameter and the height of the trapeze artist's perch is 11 1/2"
