This is a beautiful 19th century French wire cake and pastry cooler.
The wire work is intricate for such an utilitarian item. And, it miraculously retained 3 of its tassels. The diameter is 12 1/2" and it sits 1" off the table top. The metal has a very nice patina.
For more information on French antique wire items see WIRE, by Suzanne Slesin,et al, part of the EVERYDAY THINGS series published by Abbeville.

This attractive small horse weathervane dates from the early 20th c. I have been told these small weathervanes (originally with directionals) were giveaways by a grain company to merchants. The vane was made in three other animal shapes (cow, rooster, pig). It is two dimensional and in good shape. It has been custom mounted for use as a decorative piece. The overall height with the iron display part is 11 1/2".The horse is 9" wide and 7 1/2" tall.

The Royal George sank on August 29,1782. It was recovered in 1839. This information is inscribed on the silver cap atop a booted leg shaped pipe tamper - one of the souvenirs made of the ship's wood after the wreck was raised in 1840. At some point the boot lost its toe and it was restored with a piece of bone carved to replicate the toe portion of the boot.
For more info on this wreck see www.heritage.co.uk
The site mentions souvenirs made of the ship's wood and shows a letter opener.

Floral decorations on both sides and around
the ears distinguish this piece of American stoneware. This ovoid crock is
10" tall and its maximum circumference is 26".The base is 5 3/8" in diameter. There is one small chip on the upper rim ( 1/4" at the top, going down to 1/2"). There is also a 1/2" flake under one of the ears.
Aside from these two minor faults the crock really is great.
