This delightful Jacobs Christmas biscuit tin combines so may wonderful details. First it is a penny bank. then a fortune teller, the spinner works beautifully, then it has wonderful scenes of anthropomorphic bunnies at a Christmas ball. The lithography is gorgeous and the colors are bright. It is in lovely condition. It stands abut 7 3/4" to the top of the arch, the width 4 1/4" at the widest point and the depth 2 3/4" at the deepest point. We forgot to photograph one side panel which shows Mother Bunny adjusting her daughter's coat, with Poppa Bunny looking on, before she enters the coach which is to bring her to the ball. The whole thing is a whimsical delight. Sorry, the little key to the bottom of the bank is missing.

This Civil War period glazed leather sewing "roll" is actually rectangular in shape . It is brown leather and lighter brown fabric binding. Lined in red silk, while it is worn, is amazingly all there(most wear of the silk is on the compartment gussets). The lock, which still works is beautifully detailed and decorated brass and steel. The thimble holder contains a Simon Bros. Co. metal thimble which,of course, is not original. There is a large steel bodkin in one of the 7 slots. It has three compartments and its original silk covered pincushion forms one of the sides. The width is 4 1/2", the height is 3" and the depth is 2". Given its age and use I think it is in lovely condition.

This 1930's Kingsbury fire truck is a most impressive toy. It measures about 36" in length at the maximum. The width is about 9 1/2". It has been in storage since the early 40's. The condition is very good. I have tried to take as many pictures as possible so that you can judge the condition. It needs a very good dusting. It all is original - the only exception I can see is possibly the string that is used in raising the ladders. The fire bell is intact and works, however the string that connected to the mechanism must have disintegrated and was not replaced. There is play wear, but the color is good and most of the silver and gold paint detailing is there. There are 4 ladders and the extension ladder. The tires are round and in very nice condition. There is no peg in the seat for a driver, so I assume there was no driver with this toy.

A wonderful Clark's advertising thread box( with the advertising paper intact in the lid) about 4" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2", holds 6 spools of thread. On the cover in a pair of oval cartouche are portraits of Dr. Livingstone and Henry M. Stanley. On the front bottom part of the box it says "Made of wood grown near Abbotsford". A perfect 19th century souvenir. For those who may not remember the day: Stanley, while exploring in Africa, found Dr. Livingstone, a missionary who had been thought to be lost, and was famously supposed to have said,
"Dr. Livingstone, I presume".

This mid 19th century Mauchline ware box was probably issued during the short time there was a Napoleon III 1852-1870. It advertises Ashworth's Machine Cotton. The advertising on the inside of the lid is in perfect condition. There are 6 spool holders and a thimble holder in the case. The 6 ivory grommets on the outside of the box are intact. The 2 scenes lithographed on the sides are St. Clements
Bay, Jersey and St. Mary's Church, Dover Castle. The lid has an oval cartouche containing a bust of Napoleon III and is so identified . There is a little bit of crackling and wear on the glazing over the portrait, but none disturb the image. Diameter and height are roughly 4"x2".
