Lovely little children's soft cover book. The characters in the book are the anthromorphized contents of a sewing baskwet. The cover has a tipped in color illustration by Ruth M.Hallock, the inner illustrations are black and white. The book is 5 1/4" wide by 7 1/2 " tall and has 48 numbered pages, There are two chips and a crease on the cover, as can be seen in the illustration. I am fairly sure this was an advertising piece, as it was published in 1907 by Belding Bros. - a thread producer.Excepst for the faults mentioned the book is in quite a nice condition.

This Mauchline ware bucket is a thread holder souvenir from Niagara Falls - specifically Whirlpool Rapids, and shows the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge which then dates the box to the last part of the 19th century.American scenes on Mauchline ware boxes are hard to find. The box held 3 spools of thread - the spool sticks are missing. The three ivory grommets are there - one has a tiny chip. The blackish green covering the bottom of the bucket is mostly worn away. However, it is in overall lovely condition. 3 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" tall are the maximum measurements.
