This tiny petal shaped chamber stick is painted in Christmas colors of red and green. The paint shows wear appropriate to its age. It is made primarily of brass. The overall width is 2 1/4" and at its tallest point it is 3/4". A great accessory for a doll or a larger scale doll house. I believe it dates prior to the Second World War, although the work on the candle cup does resemble the style of the brass miniature candlesticks popular in the 1950's.

Early 20th German (possibly Heyde) lead and tin figure standing on a sled leading a team of 4 huskies. The figure appears to be dressed as an Eskimo ca. early 1900's. A great piece for a winter scene or a Christmas layout. 5" at its longest and 2" at its tallest. The lead dog has a paint chip off the face(on the right side) ,the other dogs are excellent. The figure has a tiny paint chip on the face. The sled shows some paint wear.Despite these problems the figure presents very nicely.

In the early 20th century Raphael Tuck & Sons,Ltd. was the premier maker of beautifully chromolithographed paper toys in England. This "rocker" is an example. Jolly Jack Tar is rowing the toys - a penny wooden doll, a Teddy bear, and two china head dolls. On the back is a poem entitled THE BONNIE BOATLOAD. The easel back has been reattached with archival tape. The color is glorious and there is no loss of details.
About 8 3/4" wide and 6 3/4" tall.

A lovely set of 6 nesting blocks dating from the early 1900's stands 12 3/4" . While not marked, the quality of the lithography indicates German manufacture. The largest block is 2 3/4" square and the other 5 graduate down into that block The condition of the five inner blocks is excellent. The outer one is very good but does show some wear , as expected, as this would be the outer "packaging", and therefore most handled. The lithography covering the sturdy cardboard blocks is quite delightful. The outer block shows Victorian children and their animals at play, the top image is the entire alphabet in lower case letters. The second largest block shows parrots playing with early toys, the top image is a clock face. The third one down shows the heads of four beautiful Victorian children, the top image shows the numbers 1-9. The next one down shows four different wild animals, the top image is the alphabet O-Z in upper case letters. The second smallest shows four different birds, the top image is the alphabet G-J in upper case letters. The smallest block again shows Victorian children in different activities (different from the scenes on the largest block) and the top image is the alphabet A-F in upper case letters.

Tony Sarg(1880-1942)was a well known puppeteer and illustrator. Among many other things he was the designer of the early Macy's parade huge balloons (1928) and Macy's elaborate animated Christmas windows. This box of Tony Sarg designed blocks is 14" X 7 1/2" It contains 8 delightful cube shaped blocks each featuring a different animal - cow, dog, elephant, frog, goat, alligator, bear, cock - c,d,e,f,g,a,b,c - the musical notes. Each block has a jingling device inside and different illustrations on 5 of its 6 sides. The box is dated 1942 and claims "The ONLY Toy that AUTOMATICALLY Makes EVERY TOT A MUSICIAN". The original box and all the blocks are here. However, the box is worn ,although generally intact. The blocks have very good color and all have their musical devices. The biggest problem are water marks - more evident on the box than on the blocks. See photos. Still, a fairly intact toy designed by a great illustrator.

A wonderful toy village. Perfect for a Christmas garden, a mantelpiece or a train layout. Consists of 10 buildings in the Deco/Colonial Revival style. The condition of all the buildings is quite good -some have bits of cellophane missing - about a score of 9 out of 10. They all have openings for lights. There are three different styles of homes, a R.R. Station, a
Telegraph Office, a Supermarket, a Bank, a Theater, a Gasoline Station and a Movie house. Since I photographed these buildings, I have also acquired a Bank and a Bathhouse (this one is the same shape as the RR Sta.) - please inquire about the two additional buildings.
