The brass edging on this lovely little picture frame looks like an old fashioned
penmanship exercise. A most interesting addition to a collection of small photo frames. The overall diameter of the frame is 3 1/2", the diameter of the picture opening is 1 5/16". The brass back has a German registry number D.R.G.M. 179576 . I don't have a key for these numbers, but stylistically I'd date it ca.1910. Excellent condition.
