This decorative and adorable Black Forest carved bear is seated atop a pressed glass double salt cellar. The connecting screw and leather washer are original. The width is 3 1/4" and the height is about 3 1/4". The bear is 2 3/8" high. The piece dates from about the 19teens And the sterling salt spoon held in the paws is contemporary (not for sale). Condition is excellent.

SOLD ARCHIVE 

This European silver wick trimmer is a scissors shape that incorporates the form of an elf like figure. Most unusual and very detailed. It is probably pre-1900, 2 7/8" long and 1 3/4" at its widest. There are European hallmarks on the back of one arm, but very difficult to read.

Art deco porcelain toast rack is in blue lustre and whimsically hand painted in a red,yellow and blue polka dot decor. It is 7 3/4" long, 4" deep and 2 3/4" tall. Made in Japan ,in the 1930's, it is in great shape. (Sorry , forgot to get dusted before photo shoot)

This attractive oak cabinet, dating from the pre WWI period, advertises "The A.W.CO.BRAID.". The gilt lettering is on the two-tone wood tambour front and on the one drawer it reads "TRIMMING BRAID". The cabinet is 15" tall, 16 3/4" wide and 10 1/4" deep. The drawer is 2 1/2" high.The corners are chipped, the general condition is good.

In its original box, is a wooden spool of thread 4" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall that was sold at the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow in 1938. J&P Coats, the Paisley thread maker, was definitely a presence at the exhibition. The spool and the box are in very good condition.

1 1/8" tall, it looks like a tiny doorstop. It's a Vienna bronze flat-back duckling marked "RR" ,back to back, the mark of R. Rosenthal. Also marked "made in Austria". Ca. 1930. Has a lovely patina.

Very neatly designed pocket travel set - 2 3/4" wide by 3 3/4" long - consisting of four tools in 4 silver containers each marked in enamel with the first letter of the item. "P" for pencil,"K" for knife blade, "S" for scissors - folding, and "F" for file. The metal appears to be silver, but not marked .The blades are marked "Mayer Germany". The leather, gold stamped, case is worn, but still in good shape. I would say it is pre-WWII and possibly pre-1930.

A most unusually shaped Tunbridge ware sewing pin cushion of the 19th c. The total height is 3 1/2".The inlaid portion from base to the top of the foot is 2 3/8" tall and in excellent condition. The pin cushion is an interestingly shaped "moon sliver" of dark blue velvet - maximum width 3" - trimmed with dark blue silk cording and showing some wear.
