GROUP OF 4 -$65.00 (includes postage/insurance for mainland U.S. only)

Four charming Golliwog bandsmen advertise Robertson jams. The trumpeter. saxophonist bass player and accordianist are all formed from plaster of paris. Two are marked ROBERTSON. I assume that they are post WWII. Condition is quite good - a minor chip on the base of the trumpeter. I assume these are of an earlier vintage because I have another Golliwog - a footballer - made ofmolded hard plastic-like material. The bandsmen all havestickers on the bottom which read "HAND PAINTED POTTERY".

Lorenzy-Palanca was a company that was located in Marseilles,France and sold perfumes at the turn of the century and went bankrupt in 1930. The Peugeot 201 van was produced from 1929 to 1937. This then dates this charming promotional tin car to about 1930. While it has been described by some as a candy container-the top of the van lifts, it could also have held a perfume bottle - the ultimate packaging! The condition of the lithography and the tin is beautiful. It is 6 1/4" long and 3" high.

This handsome Belding Bros.&Co. circa 19th c. country store spool cabinet is 19" wide, 13" tall and 17" deep. It is all original and in nice condition. The cabinet is solid oak - the back is pine and the name plate on the bottom drawer is mahagony. There are five drawers, 15 1/2" wide - the bottom drawer is 2 1/4" deep and has a mahagony name plate with gilt lettering(original). The other four drawers are glass (original) fronted and 1 3/8" deep. The cabinet has attractive decorative moldings at the top and bottom. The handle and metal fittings (original) are nickel plated brass. The top of the cabinet has some wear. I believe the darker marks are flaws in the oak. The drawers have many Belding spools ( some with thread ), but they are all much later than the cabinet as the company merged with other thread companies several times.
