A black figure dressed in robes and a red fez is sitting on a box . His arms are raised in wonderment, the box says "from Niagara Falls".The tape dates from about 1920, made in Germany of celluloid. Unfortunately, in his travels the figure lost its tiny right hand - a fault you notice only if you look closely. The base of the box is 1 1/4" square and the height ,with the figure is 1 1/2" tall. The tape is red and works well.

Lea Stein produced these pins in Paris between l969 and 1981. They are made of laminated layers of rhodoid(sheets of cellulose acetate)creating interesting texture and colors. They all have the V-shaped pinback signed LEA STEIN PARIS. They were bought in London in the late '70's. #1 rooster was the hardest to find - about 2" tall and
2 1/4" wide #2 cat is one of Lea Stein's signature designs,3 1/2" tall it has great kitty cat texture and color #3 A 3 1/8" turtle is the most interesting design and color I've ever seen for this form.
All in excellent condition.
