| The SS Cleveland was built in 1903 for the Hamburg-Amerika Line, This lifesaver shaped sewing pin cushion is an interesting piece of memorabilia made as a souvenir of the Cleveland, and an advertisement for a silk shop in Yokohama, Japan .It is 4" in diameter and only shows one little spot of wear on the silk. The name "Ella J. Sattler" and the date "1913" is penciled on the back. By the way, the U.S. eventually confiscated this ship from Germany as war reparations after WWI. | |||||
