| This toy dachshund undulates as it is pulled. It is a delightful image of the dog, tongue hanging out, lithographed on heavy cardboard. From its head to the tip of its tail it wiggles as it is pulled because of its sectional construction. It is marked "Wilder Mfg.Co. Patent, and I'm pretty sure the next word is Pending". The word is slightly obscured by one of the two sets of wooden wheels the dachshund uses to travel. My guess is that the toy probably dates from the '40's or earlier. The only information I have been able to find about Wilder Mfg. is that they also made Tiddlywinks sets. The toy is in very good condition-no paper loss, some minor wear at the various hinges(one hinge has been very carefully repaired). Fully extended the dog is about 22 1/2" long and 7 1/2" tall. The wheels are about 2 1/8" in diameter. | |||||
