| According to VICTORIAN BRASS NEEDLECASES by Estelle Horowitz and Ruth Mann, The Bird on a Box needle case was patented(and that is marked on the case both with the registry mark and written out) on February 24, 1873 by W.Avery & Son Manufacturers, although the box is not marked with their name. The bird needle case is all original, including the matching aqua blue glass eyes. The dimensions are 7.5 x 3.5 x 5.5. The condition is excellent. This is the first one I've seen complete and intact. | ||||||||
